Are the attacks on Donald Trump going to help him?

For those of us who have been working for years for real immigration reform, that urgent issue finally seems to be getting real traction. After years of virtually no progress except in keeping monstrosities such as Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) from passing three times, this year real immigration reform got on the national agenda much against the wishes of both our major parties.

How could we have guessed that our controlling political oligarchies would get called by The Donald.  As this Presidential campaign rages on, the frenzy of their anger may by many citizens be perceived as very excessive.

In a recent interview with Trump, Bill O’Reilly bluntly told Trump that no Mexican government would pay for a wall, nor will we be deporting illegal aliens without years of legal controversy in our courts, nor will we be banning Muslims coming into the USA when we need their help with Mid East politics, and that his claim of Muslims were celebrating in NJ after 9/11 was overstated, or that John McCain is not a hero, and that Carly Fiorina and Megan Kelly had valid points,

O’Reilly then said on his recent show, The O’Reilly Factor:  “Now, I like Jorge Ramos (e.g. Of Univision who called Trump a racist), he’s no phony, but he’s absolutely blind on the Trump issue. And he has no bleeping clue about what we do here, obviously. Maybe Jorge objects, because I will not brand Donald Trump a racist. He is not. He doesn’t care what color or race somebody is. It is not racist to want to shut down illegal immigration or brand Islamic terrorism a deep threat.

That’s not racist. It is not a mark of fascism to hold other countries accountable for treating America unfairly. In addition, I’m not in the nitpicking business. Trump and every other politician misspeak at times.

The gotcha game is cheap and boring. For example, if you really believe Donald Trump is courting the KKK, you need to get some fresh air.”  End quote

O’Reilly then went on to say that the Trump phenomenon was the biggest story in politics in many years.  He then said Fox is out to cover Trump and not to demonize him as he claimed so many media sources seem to be.

Perhaps the outcome of this election may make it possible to do something really constructive (e.g. make E Verify permanent and mandatory for all employers???)  en route to starting real immigration reform.  But I am not a Pollyanna, as Hillary has promised passage of CIR and more open borders while saying she will create more jobs.  That and the rush to automation will present a fearful irony!

Without any votes from us citizens, the USA has added 100 million aliens to the US population since 1965. Many of us citizens are not happy that for decades our businesses have been off shoring our jobs, while illegal aliens are packing our tax supported services –schools, hospital emergency rooms, etc. Both parties’ greed has caused real pressure on our working class and shrunk our Middle Class while the elites of both parties buy our government’s acquiescence.
