Executive Team
Kevin Lynn, Executive Director
Kevin is a long-time student of history and world affairs. When asked where he stands politically, his typical response is he considers himself a lapsed Republican, an unrepentant Perotist, a failed Green and frustrated Democrat. He is an astute observer of the hijinks being played not only on both sides of the political aisle but also with numerous NGO and activist groups across the US.
Over a multi-faceted career, Kevin worked for start-up technology companies, served as an Army officer in the U.S., Europe and Asia, and worked in business development for some of the world’s largest tax and accounting firms.
Actively involved in politics through the years, Kevin has organized groups in Arizona, California and Texas, and worked on presidential campaigns and with the California Democratic Party.
Kevin was commissioned a Second Lieutenant following graduation from Kemper Military College and ended military service in the rank of Captain. He was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young and worked as a Director with Ryan, Inc. in tax.
Raised on a small farm in Pennsylvania, Kevin is committed to the preservation of farmlands and historic buildings.
Frank L. Morris, Chairman of the Board
Frank has enjoyed a long, distinguished and influential career, which has included serving as a consultant to organizations in the U.S. on issues relating to Africa and Europe.
He launched his career in Seattle in 1962 at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development after graduating university. In 1966, he joined the U.S. State Department and starting in 1969 served as the deputy regional coordinator for the Latin American Office of Program and Policy Coordination.
In 1972, he became an Associate Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University in Chicago. He worked with the National Education Institute and the Community Services Administration and then joined the U.S. Foreign Aid Program to Jamaica, retiring as Deputy Director in 1983.
Morris then became the Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and was named Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1986. He joined Morgan State University, where he formed a partnership with the Hokkaido Foundation of Japan to teach Japanese, and then retired in 1996 as Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. He was Visiting Professor in Government and Politics at the University of Texas until he retired in 1999.
Through the years, Morris has received numerous awards, including the Superior Honor Award by the Department of State. Among the numerous nonprofits he’s worked with are the Federation for American Immigration Reform (board member), Center for Immigration Studies (board member), Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (executive director), American Association of Retired Persons (board member), Court Appointed Special Advocates (board member) and Sierra Club (member).
Morris earned an MPA from Syracuse University. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from MIT and later a Master’s in International Affairs from Georgetown University.
Steven Lamb
Steven Lamb is a fifth generation San Gabriel Valley, California, native, and attended school in Pasadena and at CSULA.
Steve’s early career centered around the restoration of architecturally significant buildings by world famous architects such as Greene and Greene, R.M. Schindler, Gregory Ain, H.H. Harris, John Lautner, Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright and others.
Steve now has a design practice centered around environmentally conscious design and a consulting practice specializing in product development.
A long-time activist, Steve is concerned with homelessness, sex workers, police violence, land use and redevelopment, racial social justice and police violence issues. He is a past member of the Pasadena Strategic Planning Committee, The Altadena Town Council, the Altadena Town Council Land Use Committee where he was twice chair, The Board of the Altadena Library District, the Altadena Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Christmas Tree Lane Association Board of Directors.
He is President of the Society of Organic Architects and the Altadena Community Corporation, a not for profit focused on retaining and growing nonchain local Altadena Business.
Ben Zuckerman
A longtime environmentalist who has worked with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, the Sierra Club and the Wildlife Waystation, Ben Zuckerman is Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy and Research Professor at UCLA.
Zuckerman’s major scientific interests have been the birth and death of stars and planetary systems. In 2008, he was cited by Science for obtaining the first-ever image of a new planetary system. He has maintained a continuing interest in intelligent life in the Universe and developed the course, “Life in the Universe.” He also developed a UCLA Honors course, “The 21st Century: Society, Environment, Ethics,” and co-edited six books, including “Human Population and the Environmental Crisis.”
He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from MIT and Harvard, respectively.
Theodore Wold
Theodore Wold is the Solicitor General of Idaho. Previously, Wold served as the Acting-Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice and Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy under President Donald Trump.
Prior to his three-and-a-half years of service in the Trump White House, Wold previously served as Deputy Chief Counsel to United States Senator Mike Lee on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Wold holds a B.A. from Georgetown University, where he studied government and English; an M. Lit. from the University of St. Andrews, where he studied English literature; and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame. Wold clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit for Judge Janice Rogers Brown and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico for Judge José Antonio Fusté.
Wold is a Washington Fellow at the Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of Life. Wold and his wife have four children and live in Boise, Idaho.
Mark Pettit
Mark Pettit has four decades experience in the tech industry and politics. Prior to joining the Board, he was Chief of Staff for Republican Congressman Mo Brooks of Alabama. He advised on policy, managed staff operations, and public relations. His work contributed to five successful re-election campaigns with increasing margins of victory.
