Dear All:
America’s political apparatus is in a state of suspended animation as I write this week’s Corner. The battle wears on to claim a victor in the presidential election. I will not predict a winner, but when it comes to our issue, it’s as clear as day who needs to win.
Great strides have been made by President Donald Trump, albeit late. In my humble opinion, his tardiness can be excused. POTUS spent his first three years warding off a soft coup that would have destroyed a lesser man.
The corporatocracy looks at America as a multi-trillion dollar enterprise and that only those it carefully vets are allowed to run for office. It didn’t give the presidency to Donald Trump. Rather, he took it, and we have benefited. For the first time in a long time, the words “AMERICA FIRST” were not only spoken, they were turned into policy.
In searching for wisdom or encouragement, the words from a spiritual teacher come to mind. “What do you do before enlightenment? Chop wood and fetch water. What do you do after enlightenment? Chop wood and fetch water.”
For tech workers, we will carry on with the actions that have made our movement successful. We will continue to educate influencers and the public on abusive employment visa programs. We will remain committed to organizing in workplaces and in every congressional district. And, we will seek long-term political solutions that ensure our unalienable right to the pursuit of happiness, as guaranteed by the Constitution.
No matter the president, or the administration, we will fight on.
